Shalom Matriculation Higher Secondary School was started in 1992 by Dr. & Dr.(Mrs.) Rajasingh and is currently run by the non-profit SHALOM EDUCATIONAL TRUST. Dr.Rajasingh, an Aerospace Scientist and his wife Dr. Malathi a Medical Doctor, were living in Germany when they decided to return to serve in India. They settled in Pavoorchatram and started the school, with the aim of providing education that was of a high standard and yet affordable, for children in this rural area.

Dr. Rajasingh is the correspondent of the school and is supported by a group of well-qualified, dedicated and efficient staff. They have enabled students to do well, both academically as well as in other co-curricular areas.
